I have studied at some depth the history of the English Shipwright from the days of King Henry VIIIth, and traced a relationship to one of the King's Master Shipwrights, a Joseph Pett of Limehouse, a prominent figure in this well distinguished English Dynasty. Also revealed is an interesting connection, through my own forebears, to that notorious family of the Lords Dudley, whose influence being legendary, at the Royal Court of Elizabeth I, has been blotted out from the standard rendition of English history in its classical context, a popular golden age topic.

Another Holborne, Admiral Lord Sir Francis, MP, Wed (1750) at Barbados, Frances, the widow of Edward Lacelles. His Elder Brother thus and second Baron Lord Sir Alexander, a Captain in the RN later appears to have been embroiled in matters of intrigue that have remained a mystery to this day. He had been for reasons unqualified, many years locked up as a prisoner of the King's Bench, and was apparently unknown in Edinburgh some ten years before his actual death at Southwark 1772, where he had been confined to such 'mean lodgings as called Harrow Dunghill' at Southwark. For it is clearly stated that in the testament of Sir Alexander's daughter, Lady Jean Holborne that she, confirmed by the Commissary of Edinburgh, acknowledged her father was dead in 1762. Her mother remained as his widow for twelve years and did not remarry until in 1774, two years after his actual death.
